Onto Augusta.

We celebrated Tops's birthday in style by having a quiet day poking around Manjimup and the area. We were very lucky to have a top notch lunch of dimsims, chips, spring roll and potato cakes wrapped and served in paper!!

It was actually very yummy 😋😋. We were all still very full after a huge morning coffee - we couldn't drink it all!! Dennis is very happy with the gift he bought Tops - even though the chainsaw is a little used by now!!
We found this great playground in Manjimup and wouldn't all the kids love this slide?

There was also a great flying fox which we couldn't resist - here's Dennis having his turn!

We left our lovely campsite at Fontys Pool  and travelled through this very attractive town Nannup where we had our morning cuppa. It's a timber town and I love the quaint little timber houses - we saw them in Pemberton too. The road to Augusta was all through forests and even though we left the majestic karri and jarrah trees behind, it was a very picturesque drive.
Augusta is a lovely town - and we are enjoying the milder weather - although our luck is probably going to run out tomorrow when rain is coming!! We had morning tea down by the riverside just by our park.

Everything is so green, neat and very clean. Today we travelled around and saw the Cape Leeuwin lighthouse where the Indian and Southern oceans meet and we saw the old water wheel which used to pump water to the lighthouse.
This is the remains of the old water wheel.

Then we went to Hamelin Bay where the stingrays come right in close and people were virtually patting them! None of us were game to get too close!

Right now we are enjoying a little down time and all are catching up on jobs! We finally sourced some green prawns so tonight's menu is red Thai prawn curry - we eat like kings 😋😋. Tomorrow Tops and I are being spoilt and are being taken out for Mother's Day lunch at the local pub which is just a short stroll away. We hope all mothers are pampered and spoilt as well tomorrow.
So until the next blog, happy Mother's Day to all mums
