Catching up with old friends.

We have enjoyed a couple of lovely days, camped on the lawns on Peter and Mary Lynn Strattons beautiful property and have been very spoilt by their generosity. We cannot thank them enough for making us feel so welcome.

The property is not far from Dunsborough and Yallingup - in a very rural area overlooking paddocks where kangaroos graze - and also indulge in minor battles!!

It's so peaceful and we're loving the garden and birds. We've had the opportunity to explore the area around here - Darryl and I trekked around Cape Naturaliste lighthouse whilst Tops had her feet attended to and we poked around all the little bays and loved them all!

After lunch we met up with Dennis and Tops in Busselton and enjoyed a long walk out on the jetty - it's nearly 2 kms long and on such a lovely day, was a great walk.

Last night Peter and Mary Lynn extended their hospitality to Bob Jacquie and Hannah Biddulph - they live not all that far down the road at Cowaramup. We had a delightful evening together, starting off sitting around our campfire then ending up sitting around the table, cosy and warm inside. There was so much reminiscing, laughter and chatter - plus an odd drink or two -and before we knew it, it was nearly 1am - unheard of bedtimes for us travellers!! As it turns out, Peter and Bob know each other through football and Jacqui very quickly felt at home with the friendly atmosphere so it was a terrific night. I think Hannah did a wonderful job staying awake!!

Today Peter and Mary Lynn took us on a tour of interesting spots in the area - another beautiful winery with wonderful gardens and even a car collection!! This one was a bit of a hit - bet you'd love it Archer Mcknight!

We ended up in this beaut little place for lunch and their home made pastas were yummy 😋😋

The building was beautiful with huge windows overlooking the picturesque area - and most innovative were the solar panels which were the pergola roof!

To complete the day, we indulged in an ice cream from Simmos ice cream factory - I've never seen such a selection of flavours and they are all so delicious 😋. They are all freshly made on the premises and I reckon are the best ice creams ever.
So it will be with some regret that we move on (probably our hosts will be glad!) and we can see why this area is so much loved by locals and tourists alike. Our next destination is unknown at this stage, but we will find something!
We'll be looking at the weather and wondering how much rain is going to fall at home - and else where. It's come in a bit showery here but not much rain yet. We hope everyone keeps safe and are fit and well.

Love from Marg, Darryl, Dennis Tops. ❌❌❌❌❌
